Volunteer
CCSS is grateful to have a dedicated team of volunteers who help with food programs, after-school activities, bingo, community events and more. Our programs & events would not be possible without their generous contribution of time.
CCSS Board of Directors
Are you looking for a meaningful place to volunteer? Would you like to use your expertise to help shape the future of a charitable organization?
CCSS is seeking expressions of interest from community members to serve on our Board of Directors starting November 2024 for a minimum of 1 year. We are looking for hard-working folks who thrive on teamwork, collective brainstorming, and who resonate with our Mission. We value diversity and inclusion in all forms – from race and gender to socio-economic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and religious beliefs.
Preference will be given to individuals with non-profit experience and/or expertise in financial management, soliciting donors/sponsors, human resources or strategic planning.
Contact us directly for more information or fill out our 2024 Board Member Application Form. Applications are due September 15, 2024.

Event Support: Help with a variety of events throughout the year including Spring Cut A Thon, Kids Disco and Thunderballs.
Bike Club Ride Leaders: Thursdays 2:45- 5 PM. Spring and Fall. Offered in partnership with UROC this after-school program provides an opportunity for students of all skill levels to ride in a supportive group setting. Ride leaders are responsible for leading a small group (with another ride leader) and encouraging a positive environment.
Volunteer Ride Leaders must:
- Provide a Criminal Record Clearance
- Be familiar with the Cumberland Trail Network
- Have the ability to handle minor mechanical bike repairs (ie. change a flat tube, adjust brakes)
- Be a current UROC member
- Enjoy working with children & youth
- Current First Aid Certification is an asset.
If you are interested in volunteering with Bike Club, please send us an email and tell us about yourself – your experience, favourite trail and availability. Volunteers don’t need to commit to being there every week (although we sure wouldn’t complain if you did!).
