Thunderballs 2026 was a Record Breaking Success!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our annual Thunderballs fundraiser!

This exciting golf ball race is a highlight of our event calendar and always a Cumberland favourite.  In addition to the event itself, we are enriched by the community engagement we experience when selling tickets, and the support CCSS is shown by the many local businesses who sponsor the event. 

We are excited to announce that Thunderballs 2026 raised a record $61,800 in support of CCSS programs!

Thanks to your generosity, this funding will provide:

• 6,000 nutritious school meals
• 250 food hampers
• A full session of after-school programming

This was only possible thanks to our generous community, dedicated sponsors, ticket purchasers, and the amazing volunteers who make Thunderballs happen year after year.

Thunderballs is truly a team effort. From building the ramp and setting up the track, to selling tickets, securing sponsors, designing promotional materials, and bringing excitement to race day, every contribution matters. Whether you worked behind the scenes or helped on the front lines, we see you and appreciate you all! 

Your support helps us to continue offering free and low-cost programs that foster connection, resilience, and well-being throughout our village. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, volunteered, sponsored, or cheered us on. We couldn’t do it without you!
