Healthy Food Program Coordinator

Do you enjoy working with children and have a passion for healthy food? Are you resourceful & organized, with experience in the food service industry? CCSS is looking for a self-motivated individual to join the team as our Healthy Food Program Coordinator.

The CCSS Healthy Food Program provides breakfast, lunch & snacks to grade K-9 students at Cumberland Community School during the academic year. It’s a barrier-free program that aims to ensure all children & youth have access to nutritious food, regardless of their socio-economic background. Last school year, we served an average of 300 lunches per day, serving 677 children & youth. Meals are sourced from both local vendors and made in house. In addition, CCSS provides snacks throughout the day, and sources food for the Breakfast Club.

The Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the daily operations of the Food Program. The position includes administration (40%), in person shopping & meal pick up (25%) and frontline kitchen work (35%). The successful candidate must have a growth mindset and willingness to embrace new challenges.

What we offer:

  • 20 to 25 hours/week. Fall 2024 to July 4, 2025.

Program Assistant – Casual

Are you looking for part-time casual employment in the Village of Cumberland? Interested in meaningful work helping with our food program, after-school programming & community events? CCSS is looking for a self-motivated individual with a diverse skill set to join our team on a casual basis. 

The Program Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including kitchen shifts prepping & serving food, leading or assisting with after-school programs, working in the Youth Centre, shopping for supplies, or supporting events like Bingo, Kids’ Disco or Thunderballs.

Youth Support Worker

CCSS is looking for a self-motivated individual to join the team as a Youth Support Worker in fall 2024. Working as a part of a team, the employee is responsible for supervising and engaging youth attending our drop-in Youth Centre.  The Youth Support Worker will also develop and facilitate drop-in programming and activities on an ongoing basis.

Youth Support Worker Job Description 2024

 

Mamacentric Facilitator

Do you love babies and have a passion for building community? Are you a skilled facilitator who would enjoy supporting new moms? CCSS is looking for a self-motivated individual to join the team as our Mamacentric Facilitator in fall 2024.

Mamacentric is a weekly support and education group for mothers of newborn to toddler-aged children. The purpose of the group is to provide mothers with emotional support, resources and the opportunity to build friendships. Each session includes a guest speaker, facilitated discussion and the opportunity for women to share and learn in a supportive and confidential setting. The facilitator is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment, guiding discussions, and providing support and information.

What we offer:

  • 2 hours/week
